Nick advises owners of middle-market industrial companies on mergers and acquisitions—most often the sale of a founder- or family-owned business. Over his more than 25-year career, he has advised more than 100 clients across most segments of the industrial sector, with particular expertise in Aerospace & Defense, Construction Materials & Services, Contract Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, and Precision Manufacturing/Engineered Products.
Owners work with Nick for his senior-level attention through every phase of a transaction and his fluency in the issues that matter beyond price: confidentiality, employee continuity, family dynamics, and legacy. His perspective is informed by nearly a decade of board service at J.R. Short Snack Products, a family-owned food manufacturer, where he experienced ownership-side decision-making firsthand.
Nick joined Origin in 2022 through its acquisition of InterOcean Advisors, a Chicago-based industrials M&A firm, and previously served as Managing Director and Co-head of M&A at Crowe Capital Markets. He holds a B.S. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and maintains Series 7, 24, 63, and 79 registrations. He is based in Origin’s Chicago office.
