Matthew is a Managing Director in Calgary, with over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and investment banking, focused in energy and infrastructure. He has successfully advised on over C$10 billion in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, along with C$4 billion in equity transactions for clients both in Canada and internationally.
He currently serves as an Executive Director on the board of Kalina Power Limited, developing 1.7GW of natural gas-fired power generation projects co-sited with data centers in Alberta.
Prior to joining Origin, Matthew was the CEO of Macquarie Capital Markets Canada Ltd. His career has provided him with deep expertise across the power, energy infrastructure, natural gas, oil, and midstream sectors, along with corporate governance and strategy experience.
Earlier in his career, Matthew worked in investment banking at National Bank Financial and Tristone Capital. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance from the University of Calgary.
