Job Description

As an Investment Banking Associate, you will work in a team of Origin professionals at various levels of seniority, on a range of advisory and financing transactions. You will play a key role in all aspects of developing and executing transactions, including financial analysis, financial statement analysis, value analysis, detailed modeling, preparation of presentation materials, research of company and industry dynamics, conducting due diligence, preparation of offering documents and marketing transactions.

In this position, you will have ongoing opportunities to attend client meetings, and work directly with senior members of the firm and the senior management team of each client. The ideal candidate will welcome the opportunity to work collaboratively with the OMP Montreal team to grow our Quebec presence through business development and live transaction work. The role is Montreal based, however will involve working on mandates across North America.

Job Requirements

  • At least two years of relevant prior work experience (investment banking or M&A advisory is preferred);
  • Strong or native French language skills;
  • Proven track record of M&A and capital-raising execution, with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a focused team;
  • Adept at financial modeling and valuation;
  • Ability to think critically and problem solve;
  • Excellent communications abilities;
  • Strong technical and computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, relevant market data services);
  • Strong understanding of, and interest in, capital markets, business, economics and finance concepts acquired through education, experience and/or personal interest; and
  • Academic track record of excellence.
